Boundary Element Method for Tangential Contact of a Coated Elastic Half-Space

چکیده

We present a formulation of the boundary element method (BEM) for simulating tangential contact with an elastic half-space coated layer different properties. use fast Fourier-transform-based BEM, while fundamental solution is determined directly in Fourier space. Numerical tests are validated by comparison available asymptotic analytical solutions very thin and thick layer, as well FEM calculations layers finite thickness.

Influence of tangential displacement on the adhesion strength of a contact between a parabolic profile and an elastic half-space

The adhesion strength of a contact between a rotationally symmetric indenter and an elastic half-space is analysed analytically and numerically using an extension of the method of dimensionality reduction for superimposed normal/tangential adhesive contacts. In particular, the dependence of the critical adhesion force on the simultaneously applied tangential force is obtained and the relevant d...

Elastic Wave Propagation at Imperfect Boundary of Micropolar Elastic Solid and Fluid Saturated Porous Solid Half-Space

This paper deals with the reflection and transmission of elastic waves from imperfect interface separating a micropolar elastic solid half-space and a fluid saturated porous solid half-space. Longitudinal and transverse waves impinge obliquely at the interface. Amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained and computed numerically for a specific model and results obta...

Wave Propagation at the Boundary Surface of Elastic Layer Overlaying a Thermoelastic Without Energy Dissipation Half-space

The present investigation is to study the surface wave propagation at imperfect boundary between an isotropic thermoelastic without energy dissipation half-space and an isotropic elastic layer of finite thickness. The penetration depth of longitudinal, transverse, and thermal waves has been obtained. The secular equation for surface waves in compact form is derived after developing the mathemat...
